Gola della Rossa: restricted access to many crags and walls

Gola della Rossa: Due to ongoing railway upgrade work, the crags and walls on both the hydrologically left and right sides of the Gola della Rossa are currently inaccessible. This impacts popular sectors like Latifondo, La Sbarra, Chez Maxime, Cuenca de Pablo, Paretone Oggioni, Spallone del Vento, and Chanel n5.

Access from the south side is officially prohibited by a municipal ordinance. The same restrictions might soon apply to the north side, though discussions with the municipality of Serra San Quirico are still underway. As of today, the entire Gola della Rossa gorge is considered adjacent to the construction site and is therefore subject to all access restrictions.

The impacted climbing spots are: Latifondo, La Sbarra, Chez Maxime, Cuenca de Pablo.

The impacted walls are Paretone Oggioni, Spallone del Vento, and Chanel n5.

Access from the south side is officially prohibited by a municipal ordinance.

Continued Efforts Despite Restrictions

Despite the highly precarious situation, re-bolting efforts continue at Chez Maxime, with several lines being cleaned and re-equipped.

All work completed so far has been funded by CAI Marche region and carried out by the "Chiodo nella roccia" climbing group and the La Fenice Mountaineering School.

Further development work is ongoing at the Sollero crag, where volunteers from "Il Cubo" (Jesi) climbing gym are putting in the work.

Sollero was re-bolted with resin after 2010 but never gained much popularity due to its awkward location. Now, thanks to the guys who have cleaned almost all the pitches and replaced some anchors, it's back in play and climbable. (An update will follow on Climbadvisor.)
